Kin no Yu (Gold)

Free footbath outside

¥8008:00–22:00 · last entry 21:30

The water comes out clear and turns reddish brown as the iron meets the air — the colour is not dirt. A free footbath, the Taiko no Ashiyu, sits outside. Reopened March 17, 2026 after renovation.

Gin no Yu (Silver)

Steam sauna

¥7009:00–21:00 · last entry 20:30

Clear water mixing carbonated and radium springs, plus a steam sauna. It sits uphill in the temple district, so allow a few extra minutes on the slope.

Does the two-spa pass save money?

The pass costs ¥1,200 (adults only) and is valid for one month. At regular prices it saves ¥300 on ¥1,500. On weekdays the two weekday prices also add up to ¥1,200, so it saves nothing — but you can still use the second visit another day within the month.

Before you go in

Bathhouse tips

  • Towels are not included. Bring your own or buy one at the counter. Body soap, rinse-in shampoo and hair dryers are provided.
  • Wash and rinse at the shower seats before you get in, and keep your towel out of the water.
  • Skip the bath or ask staff first if you have a health condition, are pregnant or have been drinking.

Tattoos: the official pages we checked do not state a tattoo rule for Kin no Yu or Gin no Yu. If you have tattoos, phone before you go (Kin no Yu +81-78-904-0680, Gin no Yu +81-78-904-0256). Taiko no Yu, the big spa complex in Arima, does refuse guests with tattoos.

Getting there

Both are a short walk from Arima Onsen Station on the Kobe Electric Railway. The streets are steep and partly cobbled. Neither bath has its own free car park; use the paid car parks nearby.
